The original version of the School Song was composed by Deirdre Hill, the daughter of Mrs Curtis, the needlework teacher. The music was from the pen of Mr. George E. English. It was first performed on the 5th May, 1960.

Verse:
High on a hill with a far reaching view
Stands the School that we love-Jesmond.
Steadfast we’ll be in whatever we do
We are proud of our School- Jesmond
Chorus:
Jesmond, Jesmond, always with you will our hearts abide,
Jesmond, Jesmond, of thee we sing with pride.
Verse:
Our horizons are wide and our aims very true
We will rise to the heights for the brown and blue.
Look to the sky to our flag up on high
Raise a cry for our School- Jesmond.
Chorus.
Jesmond, Jesmond, always with you will our hearts abide,
Jesmond, Jesmond, of thee we sing with pride
.

This version of the School Song was arranged for piano and performed by Lisa Bevitt - School Captain 2006. She is accompanied by Joseph Collaros, Tegan Cree and Sarah McLennan.

Verse:
All from Jesmond High School we
And our JHS will be
Just another happy home for work and play.
Lewis, Hargreaves strive to win,
David, Farrer, ne’er give in,
To our house we’ll ever show our loyalty.
Chorus:
Work! Play! Work! The hours are passing,
Horizons wid’ning every day,
Though exams and weekly tests
Often feel unwelcome pests,
Let them mark a path of progress on our way.
Verse:
Our traditions sound and true,
Can be handed down anew,
If only we put our should to the wheel; Some at Maths and Physics shine,
Some in sport will head the line,
We have each a special talent to reveal.
Chorus:
Join in girls and try your hardest,
Play up, lads and play the game.
When we have to say “goodbye”,
Leave the old flay flying high,
Bright our honour, clear our record, fair our fame.
Verse:
When our schooldays close at last,
Buried dimly in the past,
Are the teachers, lessons, text-books, hopes and fears.
In the wider sphere of Life,
We’ll be equal to the strife,
With the old-time chorus ringing in our ears.
Chorus:
Cheer! Let’s cheer! We’re on the high road,
Marching up the streets of Life;
Though the goal be distant still,
We can reach it and we will, Cheer up schoolmate, Sing the chorus, play the game.

The latest school song is the Callaghan College Anthem writen and composed by Music Teacher, Brien McVernon. This anthem reflects all three campuses of Callaghan College and has as its central theme "New Horizons" whilst acknowledging what has past and what lies ahead.

We embrace the future
And hold true to our past
A history forged in iron and steel
To make each new day last
Knowledge is the guiding light
Our creed shines bright as gold
Facing new horizons
Each day at Callaghan

We celebrate the challenge
To life we give our best
Welcome opportunities
To put us to the test
Learning to be leaders
Our creed shines bright as gold
Facing new horizons
Each day at Callaghan

Facing new horizons
Each day at Callaghan
