JHS Alumni Award
2012 – CCJC News Team
Georgia Carman, Thomas Carrall, Jeremy Jones,
Kartika Putra, Bryson Shepherd, Samantha Rae.
The CCJC News Team was a new initiative for Jesmond
Senior Campus. Its purpose was to present the school
announcements twice a week in a news broadcast, accessible
by all teachers and students via the schools Moodle system.
The CCJC News Team pushed new ideas of making it fun
and informative which included interviews with students and
staff, competitions and included a weekly announcement of
birthday wishes. The success of this initiative was evident by
at least two thirds of the student body accessing the site.
In Term 2, 2012 the CCJC News Team became the ‘Little
House’ team which took on a talk show appearance and
included interviews with staff and students.
CCJC News Team included structured roles and
responsibilities. Kartika and Jeremy were the anchors,
Samantha Rae focused on sport, Bryson was the
weatherman, Georgia was co-anchor and special interviews
and Thomas was the camera man and responsible for most
of the media
At all times this team of students had the best interests of
students at this school as the motivation for their actions,
and they are students who are committed and reliable in all
their endeavours.
CCJC News Team is truly deserving of this award.
